Sometimes contract manufacturer can’t get the components easily or buy the parts with authorized price are other backgrounds. Benefit of full consignment is save the interaction time with contract manufacture, this is significant favorable during NPI stage, since design is not fix or mature, continue design change is evitable. And to contract manufacture this can save capital pressure during material driving. But there is an assumption can’t be ignored for the business model, distance between customer and manufacture should be close, better in the same city. Else additional logistic cycle time will offset it. Another challenge is double efforts on material handling including but not only limited to material pick, pack, inbound and outbound.
Partial Consignment PCB Assembly
Another alternative to a fully consignment PCB assembly is a partial PCB assembly consignment.
